Indianapolis

First day in Indy--Sunday:

Kim beat me to Indy, so we met up in the parking lot of the hotel, even before I checked in. Ran to the store to find some 'real' food--chocolate is wonderful, but sooner or later I need something a tad more substantial. Then back to the hotel room to sit around and talk, and talk, and talk... and talk.

Late in the evening (10:30ish?) Melody called me from the parking lot to say she and Justin had arrived, so I headed off down the hallway to meet them. I saw this guy come around the corner that looked strangely familiar, and then he got this big grin on his face, held a finger to his lips, and came at a run. Next thing I know, I'm getting a bear-hug, and he's chortling like a maniac that he beat Melody to me. Melody rounded the corner, nearly fell on the floor, looked down the hallway with this half-delighted, half-annoyed look on her face... and meanwhile, Justin was bellowing in my ear: "Haha!! I got the first hug! Now I have bragging rights!"

Oh! I almost forgot.... the rental car is a PT Cruiser. *grin* Not blue this time though... kind of a goldish color.

Day two--Monday:

Kim and I met Melody and Justin for breakfast in the hotel lobby, then split up. Justin wanted to give Melody a tour of IBC and downtown, and Kim and I went with her sister's family to the Children's museum. Had a blast! It's the coolest kids' museum I've ever seen... even for big kids. *grin* Might post some pics whenever I get them downloaded.

Dinner at Crcker Barrel... Mmmm.... fried okra!

Day three--Tuesday:

Today started out not so great. Late last night Kim ended up with a case of food poisoning, and was sick all night and into this morning. While she's been sleeping, I've been checking my email and posting here and figuring out what classes I want to take at Musicfest this week. Would have much preferred going out to coffee with her, and strolling through downtown. Oh well. Life happens. And I'm really glad we were able to spend some fun time together yesterday. Her sister is arriving soon to pick her up and head back to Michigan.

Not sure exactly what I'll be doing this afternoon. Have a couple ideas though.

And then tonight.... the big Godplace get together! Yay!
